SU GHANA QUATERLY PRAYER GUIDE

1. Pray for Ghana’s New President and New Government. Pray for wisdom, humility, integrity and a true heart of service to genuinely serve the people.

2. Pray for the effective marketing of 115,000 SU Daily Bible Reading Notes (Daily Power and Daily Guide). Pray that those who own it will diligently use it and it will help them to know Christ better and to make Him better known. Pray that we will properly recoup the BRN Sales monies from the districts and regions.

3. Pray for the drawing of the New National Strategic Plan for 2010-2015. Pray for the Principal Consultant Prof. Sam Kofi Afrane, the Technical Committee and the SU Senior Management Team as they carry responsibility for the entire process. Pray that they will keep to the timeline.

4. Pray for the nomination and election of a new SU Ghana Council Chairman on March 14, 2009. He/She will replace Prof. Emmanuel Frempong who will step down at the next AGM (March 13-15 2009) as Chairman after completing his tenure.

5. Please pray for adequate funds to come in for SU Ghana work. Pray particularly for larger numbers of young professionals aged 25-40 years old to give to SU Ghana work.

The National Peace Prayer Campaign is an initiative of Scripture Union, to call upon the people of God, within this country and outside, to get involved in a 40 day prayer chain of intercessory prayers for all the people who make up this country and our land. Urgent prayer needed for faithful Missionary Couple in SA under severe attack
Dear fellow brother/sister in Christ

We are making an urgent call on the body of Christ to pray fervently for a precious missionary couple, James Peter and his wife Dianne, whom experience a lot of attacks on their bodies. The symptoms and signs are associated with terminal and chronic ailments. Nevertheless, it is difficult to get treatment in the area where they are situated. Only intervention by Jesus Christ and the Power of His Blood will take them through. They minister in areas where strong witchcraft are operating and opposition from religious groups and leaders that try to withstand what God is doing in the area. Yet, they are faithfully and steadfastly doing the work of the Lord under the tremendous pressure and opposition. We cherish them and their work greatly. Their pioneering mission and hearts after Jesus are held in high reputation because for the sake of the work of the Lord they have many times narrowly escaped death. We think of Paul that writes in his letter about Epaphroditus to the Philippians to highly regard such men.

“Receive him (Epaphroditus) therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.� (Philippians 2:29-30 – own words in brackets)

We trust and believe that you will welcome these two people in your hearts and be stirred to pray for them. We have seen the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul reflecting through their ministry. Cases beyond all hope radically change when they knock at their door because they receive the radiating presence of Jesus in every aspect of counseling and prayer. This is because, just like Paul, they die daily so that others can live. “For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.� (2 Corinthians 4:11-12)

Please pray specifically for:
1. The Healing of their bodies. The wife is currently having critical symptoms of bleeding in her intestines. Urgent prayer is needed for her specific. Both of them are standing in faith for the complete healing of their bodies and suffer unbearable pain. Their commitment in the work of the Lord though has never wavered under these circumstances.
2. That God would endow wisdom and understanding as they daily deal with difficult situations in their ministry to others.
3. That God would bless their ministry with more resources and finances so that the tremendous need of individuals and those in crisis who is knocking on their doors for counseling and prayer can be properly met.
