2. SU PRAYER WARRIORS PRAY FOR GHANA
Paul writes to Timothy, “I urge you first of all, to pray for all people… Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority…” (I Tim. 2:12 NLT). This was our theme statement for a Prayer for the Nation Retreat that was held on February 6-8, 2009 at Sekyeredumasi. Sixty-one people were in attendance.
We devoted time to pray for Ghana that the Lord will guide President Atta Mills and his government to deliver on its manifesto to improve the lifestyle of the citizenry.
Quality time was spent on prayer for the ministry of Scripture Union in general and Staff members in particular. We also prayed for the Church in Ghana.
The Kumasi Area Adult Fellowships Committee organised a rally to launch the SU Ashanti Region programmes of activities for the year 2009. Nearly all the 41 Adults Fellowships in the Metropolis had their representation in this meeting. The Regional Committee Chairman was present and expressed delight in the great turn out of members.
