1. Bible Ministries a. Recouping Outstanding Debts The Bible Ministries Committee (BMC) is to propose policy guidelines on the timeframe i.e. when the cover price of the BRN can be reduced to facilitate increased sales and to reduce losses. The decision of the BMC is to be communicated to the Regional Committees by the end of March, 2009. b. Status of Payments for BRN 2008. That the BMC should submit revised and updated payments status on BRN 2008 to the next ExCo meeting of 28th May, 2009
c. Evaluation of the BRN Ministry/Business That the BMC should work on a comprehensive evaluation of the BRN business (production, distribution, marketing etc.); to use the outcomes as a guide to fashion out a BRN ministry policy. The report is to be submitted to the National ExCo by June 30th 2009/ d. Payments for BRN 2009 All Regional Committees should make conscious and intensified efforts to recoup monies and pay fully for 2009 Notes by 30th April, 2009. 2. Human Resource Policy Matters a. Staff Development/Training Policy Council requests the ExCo to finalise the draft document taking into consideration the corrections and comments made; and to work out the necessary details to make it operational by May 28, 2009. b. Staff Retirement Policy i) Council mandates the ExCo and Head Office Management to finalise the draft proposals subject to the corrections and comments of the Council; bearing in mind the New Pensions Act of the Republic of ii) That the special conditions to be applicable to the category the of CEO, and the Senior Management will be decided upon by an ExCo Sub- Committee to be appointed at its meeting of May 28, 2009. 3. Finance and Financial Policy Matters: a. That all stakeholders are encouraged to aggressively market the 2009 Budget to help to raise the funds for its operationalization. b. Regional Committees are directed to revitalize Fund Mobilizing Committees and to intensify Fund mobilize campaigns to creatively mobilization adequate resources for ministry. c. That the CFPW Ministry leadership is urged to look beyond its segment of ministry in fundraising to help raise adequate funds to support other ministry areas of S.U. (especially Children’s Ministries since we are not able to raise support from children). d. Council directs that Regional Treasurers and Regional Coordinators be brought together to review/think through their budget and for orientation on the new paradigm of budget preparation. e. Council affirms that all Regional budgets must be submitted well before APC and that the Hon. Treasurer will present the National Budget for approval at the November Annual Planning Consultation (APC). f. That to bring a new lease of life into financial operational matters, the Finance and Human resource sub-committees of the National ExCo must be resuscitated and made functional by June 30, 2009. 4. Nominations for SU Eastern Regional Chairmanship Appointment Council requests the Eastern Regional Committee to submit names of two (2) nominees together with their bios to the National ExCo for consideration and appointment to the Regional Committee Chairmanship at its meeting on 28th May, 2009. 5. Growing the School Leavers Fellowship Regional Committees are urged to take steps to intentionally grow and develop the School Leavers Fellowships. 6. Growing the Old Guards Fellowship Regional Committees are encouraged to set goals on, and take requisite measures to establish and grow the Old Guards Fellowship. 7. Strengthening the Camps Ministry To strengthen and ensure lasting outcomes from Camps Ministry, the National Camps Committee (NCC) is being asked to: a. Design standard formats for reporting on Camps to ensure uniformity; and b. Design a follow-up strategy to provide a framework for post-camp follow-up processes and procedures. 8. That the Regional Chairman in each Region will hold Regional Committee meeting to discuss ‘The how to’s for each Region; in relation to the following: (i) Being and Making Disciples (making Disciple Making the DNA of SU in the Region) (ii) To grow higher performance Regional SU Committees that bear . |
