"SU is US" and "SU is people".
The total number of J. S. S nationwide (Ghana) is 6371. In 2006 new SU Bible Clubs were formed in 109 Junior Secondary Schools nationwide. Now there are SU Bible Clubs in 832 J. S. S. (JHS) representing 13.1% coverage. At the end of 2006 there were 532 SU Groups in Senior Secondary Schools out of national total of 569 S. S. S. (SHS) This represents SU work in 93.5% of all Senior Secondary Schools in Ghana.
The Friends of Scripture Union Ghana (FOSUG) is made up of people like us (you and I) who were a part of the Scripture Union in Ghana, witnessed and were transformed by the activities of SU or who knew someone who was in the group… from the active executive to the dormant observer who didn’t want to have anything to do with SU.
SU has deposited a lot in the lives of several millions since its formation in Ghana several decades ago.
FOSUG believes in giving back to SU. It is the culture in Ghana and everywhere to “say thank you to the hands that fed you.” SU is one rare organization that has contributed directly or indirectly to who we are and hope to be in Christ and in this world.
So how are we going to support SU? Good question! We are going to do so in prayer, by volunteering, by donating resources and most importantly, financially.
And why should we support SU Ghana? SU didn’t end with us, and it’s not going to end anytime soon. More souls need to be reached and sustained. The rallies, camps, conferences, retreat, etc should continue. Others must share in the wonderful experiences we had and are still having in a way contemporary to the changes in our times.
It’s a principle that works for all. He who gives receives more than what was given. Let us make it happen for SU Ghana as well. In the same spectrum, when you give to Scripture Union, it will be given back to you – even more.
FOSUG is NOT independent from Scripture Union Ghana. Our activities are monitored to ensure continuous compliance with the ethos of SU. All donations received by FOSUG are used in supporting the goals of SU or the specific instructions of the sponsor.

"War is as outmoded as cannibalism, chattel slavery, blood-feuds, and duelling, an insult to God and humanity...a daily crucifixion of Christ."
"If the human race wishes to have a prolonged and indefinite period of material prosperity, they have only got to behave in a Peaceful and helpful way toward one another." -- Winston Churchill

Peace is the most precious commodity on the African market today. Ghanaians have no choice than to buy Peace now, during and after elections. Singling out one person responsible to ensure the purchase of this Peace will be illusion. It is a collective effort from all of us Ghanaians and Foreigners living in Ghana. Even the security forces cannot ensure by themselves the Peace we need for this NATION. I must quickly admit that some have more purchasing power than others yet it is necessary for us as a Nation to bury the political differences, strengthen the religious common grounds of Peace and love, and silence the ideological differences to allow us to rally together all the resources we have to make this deed of Peace a priority in our investment portfolio. Please give Peace a chance.
I appeal to all positional leaders in all the three arms government, the media, state institutions, security agencies, political parties, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and most importantly our functional leaders, the youth of Ghana to stand, buy and keep the Peace of our dear land Ghana. Blame game is what is going on presently, and it is okay to enjoy that game as long as it suits you but the consequences can be terrible and too much expensive than the price of Peace. We refuse to join the blame parties but rather appeal to people as on negotiating desk weighing the options and repercussions for choosing Peace and Peaceful coexistence. Please give Peace a course.
We are pleading with the adults who want to destroy the future they will not live in to spare us the anguish of another Ivory Coast, Liberia or Sierra Lone. We are pleading with the leaders who have options when this NATION burns into ashes to survive elsewhere to give Peace a chance. We are begging our youth to rise up for Peace necessary for their future aspirations. Even for my fellow colleagues who have genuine burning issues of poor standards of living, unfair treatment and unequal opportunities, I dare to say that the future is brighter because the black star is rising up with a new entrepreneurship spirit that will not depend on the munificence of its government or its foreign players. Please allow Peace to govern.
All is not lost; we must pick the pieces when we can. A stitch in time saves nine. We must rally around the Ghanaian Flag to remind ourselves of the significance of the colours of the Flag. We must remind ourselves the significance of the red in our flag, that the blood our fathers shed for this Nation is enough and suffice even today. The gold colour of wealth of this nation is not only in our rich mineral resources but the Human resources as well. The rich cultural diversity, the different languages, variety of food and festivals, are for our advantage not our destruction. In one’s settlement it is common to find almost every tribe in Ghana and until now we live in Peace not in pieces. The green colour although symbolises our rich natural vegetation and forest, I dare to suggest that it also represent for us presently the wave of Peace and Climatic consciousness in Ghana today! The black star which represents the lonestar of African freedom needless to say today also represent lonestar of Peace shining in the Sub-region.
